Today we witness an eventful time in which the powerful new forces of genomics, information technology and economics are rapidly changing the science and art of medicine. This requires more specialisation than ever before.
At the Department of Clinical Pharmacology we pursue three goals: a scientific, a clinical and a regulatory one.
- Scientific: for better understanding of the effects and side effects of drugs directly on patients and volunteers.
- Clinical: optimisation of drug therapy and early access to new therapies.
- Regulatory: evaluating the risk-benefit ratio of new drugs for regulatory approval.
